II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Please provide a summary of your project
The single-family house is under construction (started in March 2021).  The single-family house is situated in a picturesque part of Gdańsk (Poland), next to the lake in surrounding of the Tri-City Landscape Park. The architecture fits in with the Scandinavian style and its simple shape blends in the surrounding landscape - which was one of the main aim of the project. The building has been divided into two parts connected by a glazed bridge. From the west, there is a day zone with a living room and a kitchen. From the east, a night area with bedrooms. In the central part of the building, there is a dining room, which integrates both volumes of the building, but also conducives to build family relationships during shared meals. An additional small sauna building has been designed on the lake shore. Full walls on the side of the neighbor and glazed ones on the side of the lake create the comfort of using the relaxation area. The above allows to create the architecture that provides intimacy for the residents and at the same time large glazing allows the contact with a nature. The project also uses ecological solutions like solar technologies, heat pumps or rainwater management. The façade was also created with the ecological and natural materials which  additionally makes the building blend in with the surrounding landscape and in line with the trends of sustainable architecture.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of sustainability and how these have been met
The project uses ecological solutions like solar technologies, heat pumps or rainwater management. The façade was also created with the ecological and natural materials which  additionally makes the building blend in with the surrounding landscape and in line with the trends of sustainable architecture. Creating a simple, minimalist architecture was the main assumption of the project. It therefore also influenced the choice of materials used on the facades. The project involves the use of white plaster, natural wood and titan-aluminium sheet on the roof. The roof is devoid of skylights so that photovoltaic installations can be mounted on it. A drip-free system was also used, i.e. hidden gutters and downspouts, which additionally allowed for a simple and clean shape. In addition, the location of the forest and lake meant that large glazing was introduced on the gable walls of the building and in the connector. This allows for the blurring of the boundaries between the inside and the outside, thanks to which the building blends more harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The use of ecological and natural materials means that the facility fits in with the trends of sustainable architecture.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality and how these have been met
The project was inspired primarily by Scandinavian architecture. The surrounding landscape and the neighboring buildings made the decision regarding the choice of style very easy, and you could even say imposing. The plot is surrounded by the Tricity Landscape Park from the south, and it is connected to the lake from the north. The use of such potential has become the main guideline in creating architecture and determined the most important compositional axes. The building is divided into two blocks, including day and night zones, which are connected with a glass connector. Thanks to this procedure, the building does not completely obscure the lake, and the dining room located in the connector connects not only the other parts of the building, but also the views of the forest and the lake.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of inclusion and how these have been met
The project uses ecological solutions like solar technologies, heat pumps or rainwater management. The façade was also created with the ecological and natural materials which  additionally makes the building blend in with the surrounding landscape and in line with the trends of sustainable architecture.
Please give information on the results/impacts achieved by your project in relation to the category you apply for
The project uses ecological solutions like: - solar technologies, - fotovoltaic systems  - heating pumps - rainwater management. The façade was also created with the ecological and natural materials which  additionally makes the building blend in with the surrounding landscape and in line with the trends of sustainable architecture. All of the above solutions make the building environmentally friendly. In addition, it reduces energy consumption and uses natural energy sources. The project involves the use of white plaster, natural wood and standing seam sheet.
Please explain the way citizens benefiting from or affected by the project and civil society have been involved in the project and what has been the impact of this involvement on the project
Suburban areas are intended for the construction of single-family houses. Nowadays, people need a lot of rest and escape from the city noise. Therefore, building single-family houses is becoming popular. This building can become a modular example of how to design ecologically and be aware of sustainable architecture. Neighbors and people passing by this building can be inspired and the dissemination of the project to the public may increase the interest in such architecture in the society.
Please highlight the innovative character of the project
As mentioned before, the creation of simple, minimalist architecture was the main aim of the project. It therefore also influenced the choice of materials used on the facades. The project involves the use of white plaster, natural wood and standing seam sheet.
Please explain how the project led to results or learnings which could be transferred to other interested parties
The project was inspired primarily by Scandinavian architecture. The surrounding landscape and the neighboring buildings made the decision regarding the choice of style very easy, and you could even say imposing. Ecological solutions, materials and technologies used in the project may become an example for the next implementation of sustainable architecture.
